Toddler Program

For children ages 18 months to 3 years
(Monday through Friday)

Full time/part time
Availability: 3days/4days/5days
Before Care/After Care

The purpose of our program is to encourage, assist, and protect the natural development of each child. Under the guidance of Montessori trained Teacher and through the carefully prepared toddler environments, children are able to develop the foundation for a strong personality.

  • Our classroom environment is designed to maximize to help child  to develop strong cognitive skills
  • Classroom areas include gross motor development, fine motor development, language skills, sensory/perceptual development
  •  Classroom activities are planned to develop child’s coordination and independence

SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • The child is taught to know and follow safety rules; he learns self-regulation
  • We help child play well independently amongst a larger group of children and learn to take turns playing with others

 

 LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT

  • Planned classroom work encourages toddler to talk more, to use manners in everyday life
  • Activities are planned to help toddler to develop her interest to listen to music, take part in circle time, learn simple songs and finger plays
  • Reading  books to toddlers help to develop love of reading and telling stories

SELF HELP DEVELOPMENT
We help to develop in Toddlers skills like:Step-Up-N-Wash

  • Eating with spoon, fork; pouring drink
  • Washing hands and face
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Putting away toys
  • Making choices
  • Helping clean up
  • Helping to make part of a meal
  • Potty-training (provided where appropriate)

 PHASE-IN PERIOD:

If required (new toddlers) Gradual phase-in over 3 to 5 days; toddler attends only 1.5 hour the first day with caregiver/parent, gradually increasing to full time on individual basis as presence of caregiver/parent is reduced.
